The Doubled Up Program Pilot launched in November 2023. The Pilot exclusively serves households experiencing Doubled Up Homelessness who are currently receiving services from a community referral partner. This form of homelessness includes individuals and families who are temporarily and unstably sharing the housing of other persons due to loss of housing or economic hardship. This includes those that are self-paying in hotels/motels or other daily rate lodging without a lease. These households cannot have a current lease in their name at the time of program referral.
The program targets service to households that have at least one (1) minor child in the adult applicants care at the time of application. Provider agencies and referral partners work together to disseminate housing status and eligibility.
Please consider the following parameters guiding eligibility for the program:
The Doubled Up Pilot Program is administered by local Provider agencies that serve Dane County. Service areas vary by agency. Families must live in one of the service areas to participate in the program. This program has limited capacity and can only serve 60 households total.
